Masquerade

Despite all the negativity that the first track has attracted, I am proud to say that I have absolutely NO problem with the first track. I'm glad to hear Kaya sing to a different style of music. "Masquerade" is simply a fabulous track, every bit as good as "Psycho Butterfly". They bring the single to perfect balance, like a double-edged sword, yin and yang, or peanut butter and jelly. Many people need to realize that Kaya is not a musician, but a singer. The emphasis is to be placed on his voice rather than the music, unlike bands. He can sing to whatever style he feels he needs to, and has skillfully and successfully chosen jazz to accent his voice. His message is clearly heard and continues to astonish his fans.

This is Kaya's second single which he's taken a jazzy twist with the title track Masquerade. It's a unique track but my definite favorite of the single is Psycho Butterfly which is more of Kaya's dance/techno goodness.

"Masquerade" is an average song. It's not great, but not bad. I didn't like it the first time I heard it due to its jazzy-ness, but after a few more listens, I started to like it. "Psycho Butterfly", on the other hand, is very good. Personally, I feel that he should have made this the star track, and not a B-side. It does have a Schwarz Stein feel to it, as some have mentioned. It complements the first track well. Do not miss this single. You will later regret it.
