95年ヴェネツィア国際映画祭 「金のオゼッラ賞」受賞、宮本輝原作、江角マキコ主演、是枝裕和長編初監督作品、待望のBlu-ray化! 今振り返るべき名作が高画質でよみがえる! ――ゆみ子は12歳の時に祖母が失踪するという過去を持つ。25歳になったゆみ子は夫・郁夫と息子との平和な日々を送っていたが、ある日突然夫が列車に飛び込んで自殺してしまう。5年後――愛する人を次々と失った記憶と引き止めることができなかった悔恨を胸に秘め、ゆみ子は奥能登の小さな村に住む民雄の元へ嫁ぐ。新しい家族に囲まれて平穏な日々を送っていたが、やがて前夫の死の影に次第に引き寄せられてゆく・・・。
