As the soundtrack of a Final Fantasy game, this is certainly a solid disc set, with all the tracks you could ever want. This soundtrack, though, is definitely one that needs the context of the game to really shine. If you can recall where a track played, the world opens up and infuses the music with depth. If you've forgotten or are unfamiliar with it, the music is almost bland and occasionally annoying. Technically, it's competent enough, but it's certainly not meant to be truly accessible outside of the realms of the game. It's a wonderful addition to your collection if you're a diehard Final Fantasy fan but, if you didn't like (or didn't play) Final Fantasy X, then this is not the soundtrack for you.
