Solid album from start to finish, unembellished unpretentious rock but far from plain. Influenced by various genres, like rockabilly, blues, old-school punk, to result in something thoroughly modern. Strong and incredible guitars, drums, bass. Intense unique vocals: loud and sometimes grating but always melodious and passionate. The music is expressive and the lyrics are inventive; each song will conjure up a different image or state of mind for each listener, but all are of the same world created by TMGE. My favorite song Killer Beach brings to my mind a guy and girl in the 1960s, eating ice cream and playing with knives on Coney Island Beach, all drawn by Ralph Steadman. Good times.
