The title "I Wanna Go To Hawaii." sounds as meaningful as the first album, but it really doesn't matter. There is no meaning. There are no songs that make you think of Hawaii. The whole band just expressed the impulse and emotion of rock and roll with their whole heart and soul. All 12 songs on this album are of such divine quality that they could easily have been cut as singles. The catchy and memorable melodies, the exquisite sense of rhythm unleashed by the band members, Kawakami's pursuit of realism in the lyrics (which he stresses are completely meaningless), and the way he sings in both English and Japanese with his Syrian accent are still there! Everything is perfect, and I am proud to say that this is an album that will definitely remain in the history of Japanese rock music.

2011年の主役は[Champagne]で間違いなし。2010年数々のフェスを総なめし、シャンペソという愛称とともに口コミで異常なまでの人気を博した[Champagne]待望の12曲入りセカンドアルバム。捨て曲なし、完全に名曲のみ収録。2010年は[Champagne](シャンペイン)にとって、人生が180度変わった年だった。それまでは雨の日も風の日も誰にも相手にされずに路上ライブを行い、自分たちの音楽に自信を持てない時期もあった。その後は、絶対みんなを振り向かせたいという強い気持ちを忘れずに前に進んでいく。その転機が2010年に訪れる。2010年1月に1stアルバム「Where's My Potato?」をリリースを皮切りに数々のメディアを巻き込みながら、インターネットを中心に口コミで知れ渡り、全国で在庫切れになるほどの現象が起きる。また、リリースツアーファイナルの下北沢シェルターも即日即完という快挙を成し遂げ、その後はあれよあれよとイベント、フェスティバルの参戦が決まっていった。そう、苦渋を飲んだ8年間のすべてを吐き出すかのように、2010年は音楽にどっぷり浸かったのだ。着実に動員も増えていき、ミュージシャンとしての意識も高まり、ライブでタイトかつ魅せる術を覚えていき、ライブバンドとしてもかなり成長を遂げている。そして、[Champagne]として経験したそのすべてを詰め込んだアルバムを完成させた。タイトルは『I Wanna Go To Hawaii.』と1stと同様に意味がありそうだけど、本当はどうでもいいタイトル。意味なんてない。ハワイをイメージさせる曲なんかもない。バンド全員が全身全霊でただ、ただロックンロールの持つ衝動と感情のみを表現した。今回生み出された12曲すべてが、シングルカットされても遜色ない神懸かったクオリティ。キャッチーで覚えやすいメロディ、メンバーが解き放す絶妙なリズム感、川上のリアリズムを追求した歌詞(本人は全く意味のない歌詞と強調する)シリア訛りの英語と日本語を使い分ける歌いまわしは健在!すべてが完璧で日本のロック史に絶対に残るアルバムだと自負する。
