Sakura Wars - Review in Little Lip Theater - Utau Dai New York

Here we have the soundtrack for the Hoshigumi's first live kayou show (of the same name.) Since the show used the image songs from the last cd, this cd only has new songs from the musical; four of which are based from actual plays performed by the Hoshigumi in the video game. To be honest, this is a pretty lackluster cd; not nearly as interesting as the kayou zenshuu cd. There are two songs that caught my attention and the rest i can live without. I wish they could've had "Over the Rainbow Sunshine" on here or a Ratchet solo, but I'm sure that would be too much to ask. If you're in Japan and you find it, go ahead and buy it since it's relatively cheap. But if not, I'd say beg someone to upload this for you. In short it's not worth buying unless you're a die-hard Sakurai Taisen fan. Also, if you weren't able to get the dvd of the show (it's already out of print, luckily I already pre-ordered and paid for it) there will be live recording album; I'd recommend getting that than this cd.

I am a huge Sakura Taisen/Wars fan and given my love for the voice talent involved with Sakura Taisen V, I was rather excited about getting an album that featured a new track devoted to each character. Each track takes the form of the climax from the maginary performances of the plays in Sakura Taisen V. Unfortunately the music is only so-so and the tracks themselves aren't nearly as full of life as I had expected or wanted. The album is OK, but there are much better Sakura Taisen albums to buy, such as the Sakura Taisen V vocal collection album.

This mini album is a collection of songs from the amazing actresses of the New York Kagekidan. This entirely new group in the Sakura Wars franchise was introduced in the game Sakura Wars V ~Farewell My Loved Ones~ which directly hits the CD Store with their amazing vocal collection, and now they did the same with this amazing feature. Just as the title suggest, this consist of 6 new songs performed at the "New York Revue Show" on March, 18th-19th 2006. This is their first big live show, following the success of the Teito group which has experienced the live show entertainment for its 10th year now. This mini album, covers a lot of variety: a fun musical piece by Shinjirou, Plum & Anri; a country ballad by Gemini; a jazzy styled beat by Sagitta; a lovely heartwrenching theatrical feature by Diana & Subaru (my highlight of this album); a dance along upbeat tribal by Rikaritta; and a smooth twist rock n roll style by Sunnyside. Fans of the Sakura Wars series will be sure to love this, and I'm sure others will eventually find a heart for these songs cause they're just great. If you like variety and you're into anime, then you've got to try this. This is simply awesome! Trust me!
