Calendula Requiem [Regular Edition]

Well despite some reviews I have to say this is one of my top 5 J-pop songs of 2010. I thought it was truely amazing. Not being a fan of either of the Kanon's I stumbled upon the MV for Calendula Requiem by accident and was blown away. The song is inventive and masterfully moves between modern pop-rock to more a more traditional Japanese feel. Contray to other reviewer's remarks the vocals are first class, powerful and emotional and I love Kanon's use of a cello. The look of the video, like the song is a bizarre mash-up of modern and traditional and the costumes are stunning. I only wish that these two would release more work together in the future as this song was definately one of my musical highlights of 2010!!!!

This is slightly different from Kanon Wakeshima's previous works, but I really enjoyed it. All three songs are great, especially 'Calendula Requiem'. :) To the person below me: You probably won't read this, but I still have to say it. I find your review very offending and childish. It's not even criticism; it's more or less bashing on Kanon Wakeshima. In what way is she 'hideous'? Her skills are poor? How? And calling her to quit being an artist and just work on the fields... how would you feel if someone told YOU that? I don't think she has a horrible voice. Sure, her voice gets a little too high-pitched at times, but since it fits with her songs, it's fine. "she is so annoying & not even cute!!" Did she even do anything personally to annoy you? So what if she isn't cute (though I think she is)? Does being cute really matter to an artist? No. "who would look at that "girl" even TWICE?!" Her fans, obviously. Anyways, I think you're just butthurt that Kanon (An Cafe) did not get much screen time, but that doesn't give you an excuse to bash on Kanon Wakeshima. Though, I'll give you credit for not going all "I HATE KANON WAKESHIMA!!!11!". Believe me, your life will be much better without all the hatred. Learn to be more open-minded.

Poor Kanon (An Cafe)!!~ he only got about 1 minute of PV time and only about 50 seconds of guitare time on the whole single . . . and all that time was just in the first song. . . poor guy!! i can't believe he was forced to work with this horrible voice. she should not even be calle a celliste. her skills are poor & she is hidious! she should jut quit being an artist & just work in fields or something. . . she is so annoying & not even cute!! i mean, comme on! who would look at that "girl" even TWICE?!
