I found this album in an indirect way while researching Yoko Kanno (composer of many of its songs). I realized that while I had heard and enjoyed many (OK: ALL!) of the album's tracks, I had never heard of the artist before and wasn't even aware that one voice had brought me so much musical enjoyment. Arai-san has an expressive beauty that comes through in every lyric of every song be it slow or fast tempo, and has been (and continues to be) a stalwart of the industry for over two decades. I'm sorry that it took me over 10 years to find the name of that one voice, but overjoyed that her voice and music can still touch me.
