I cannot recommend this DVD enough, it's the ONLY Black Mages concert available for purchase (the last two were given out to fan club members only). It's 90 minutes of progressive rock (and then some), mostly from the latest album, but there are also a couple of classics thrown in. If you like Black Mages, you'll love this DVD. The title track "Darkness and Starlight" is worth the price of the disc alone. My only problem is that the mixing is not perfect. I wish they would amp up Nobuo's organs a bit more, it tends to get lost amidst the heavy sound of the band. They've had the same problem with the last two concerts. The sound tends to get a bit muffled as a result. Minor gripes aside, I recommend this DVD to anyone with an interest in the music of Nobuo Uematsu. The performance of the title track, "Darkness and Starlight," has to be seen to be believed! The guitar playing of the band has also improved across all the tracks. Just witness those awesome solos. They also seem to be enjoying themselves and really give out a wonderful performance. Get it now!
