Hi:BRiD、新作リリース決定! 2008年、8月よりVo.JILL、Ba.零、Dr.Kisaraの3人で活動を開始、2009年6月にGt.ききが加入し、精力的な活動を展開するHi:BRiDのニューシングルの発売が決定。ライブでは既にお馴染みの曲が収録された前作「UTOPIA」とは打って変わり、書き下ろしの3曲を収録。新たなHi:BRiDの魅力に触れられる作品に仕上がっている。タイトル曲「story of mermaid」はグルービーかつ親しみやすいメロディで構成されており、また今後ライブでも定番になるであろう楽曲。タイトルから読み取れる通り、テーマは人魚姫。誰かを切なく恋しく思う気持ちを人魚姫に照らし合わせてその世界が描かれています。2曲目「DIRTY」は新加入のききを中心に楽曲制作。新しい息吹によってますます加速し出したHi:BRiDを感じられる1曲に。3曲目「Poison」は、前作とも共通する激しさと妖しさを兼ね備えた楽曲。心躍る軽快なノリがクセになり、ライブシーンが広がってくるでしょう。全体を通して色とりどりに仕上がり、いつまでも楽しめる1枚。
