Ten [w/ DVD, Limited Edition]

I got a hand on all of "fade"'s releases by now (which in total are 7 albums) and I must say that "TEN" is by far the best. Especially when it comes to the variety of included genres. There's pop, rock with really heavy tunes, ballads - but also a song including scream core. "fade" proof that they are not only able to keep their own sound, but develop it onto a new level. This is probably heard best in the 2012 version of "Beautiful", which is a re-recording of an old song the band released first on their "A Moment Of Truth" album in 2005. The Limited Edition comes with a DVD, which, besides some by now released PV's, includes Live-footage of a concert from last December in Shibuya. For me the DVD was a special add-on totally worth every extra yen I payed (compared to the Regular Edition of the album, which of course, is cheaper), since the Live Videos really catch the atmosphere of the concert and show on the other hand how contrary (heavy tunes + straight lyrics in "One Reason" vs. soft melody + melancholic lyrics in "Beautiful") "fade" really are able to sound. If you're a friend of rather "western-like" sound, yet still with a touch of Japanese, then this album is a must-get.
