When you shop at CDJapan, we offer you loyalty points that you may redeem for discounts when you purchase again later as detailed in CDJapan Rewards.

CDJapan offers various types of free News Mails packed with information about new releases. For example, you may receive email alerts automatically whenever any new releases become available from artists in your purchase history. Configure your preference and subscriptions to suit your interests.

How to Create Your Customer Account

To create your customer account, proceed to checkout by clicking on the blue Proceed to Checkout button in your shopping cart. As you continue with your order, you will be prompted to enter necessary personal information, and your customer account will be created once you complete the email verification.

You may also create your customer account and enjoy account benefits without making a purchase by clicking on the Create Account button under Customer Account.

Email Verification
To enhance the security of your customer account, we will send you a verification link by email before completing the account creation. If you do not receive the verification email, please make sure that emails sent from our domain (cdjapan.co.jp) are not blocked or filtered by your email program.

Prefer to Shop Without Creating Your Customer Account?
If you prefer not to register your personal information when you shop, place your order by clicking on the Check out with PayPal button in shopping cart.

After you make your purchase using this button, PayPal will supply CDJapan with your personal information registered with your PayPal account only for the purpose of shipping your purchase. Your personal information won't be registered on our site. Please note that none of the savings and benefits are offered unless you register at CDJapn.

Returning Customers
If you already have a CDJapan customer account and prefer to make your payment with PayPal, make sure to click on the blue Proceed to Checkout button in your shopping cart, and then select PayPal as the payment method.

How to View Order Status

Sign into your customer account to view the status of your most recent orders at the top. To view status for individual items included in your order, click on the order number. Details and history of your entire orders are available under the Order History tab in your account.

Order Status

Your order status shows the current condition of your order as detailed below.

Credit Card Approved
Your credit card has been approved and we are in the process of fulfilling your order. The payment will be finalized after your order is shipped.

Credit Card Declined
The issuer of your credit card declined the transaction. Make sure to call them to find out if your credit card is currently valid for the purchase at your earliest convenience. After they resolve it for you, make sure to contact us by email (info@cdjapan.co.jp). We will then process your order. Please note that if it is not resolved within a week, your order will be canceled automatically.

Payment Finalized
This status is shown after your payment has been finalized by PayPal, International Postal Money Order, or Cash. We are in the process of fulfilling your order.

Payment Pending
Your order still hasn't been processed. Our site shows this status until your PayPal payment is completed or until your International Postal Money Order or Cash arrives.

In Shipping Process
Your order is being packaged. The shipment will be completed in 1-2 days.

Shipped
Your order has been shipped out.

Status of Items in Your Order

In the order details page, status of items are also shown individually.

Processing
We are still processing the order for the item, and we still haven't received a confirmation from the supplier. Cancellation is possible online at this point.

Processed
The order for the item has been confirmed and we are already in the process of fulfilling your order. In case of any delay or postponement, an update will be sent to you by email automatically.

In Stock
The item is already in stock, specifically for your order.

Email Subscriptions

CDJapan offers various types of free News Mails packed with information about new releases. To configure your preference and subscriptions to suit your interests, sign into your customer account, and click on the Email Preference tab.

You may also choose to receive our information on service upgrades and promotions that we normally send once or twice in a month with or without subscribing to News Mails.

New Release Mail from Your Favorite Artists

If you opt to receive them, we will send email alerts automatically whenever any new releases become available from artists in your purchase history. You may also edit or specify the artists by clicking on the Edit button.

News Mails

We send News Mails once every 1-2 week for various genres listed below, packed with information on the notable and popular new releases. We recommend the HTML version, but the text version is available for all of them, as well.

New Release Updates

Also or following genres and types of products, we send an email update automatically whenever any new release become available for preorders. Frequency of mails vary, entirely depending on how frequently new releases become available. For example, Anime Collectible updates are sent almost daily, but Apparels updates are sent only once in 1-2 months.

Online Survey

Help CDJapan improve the shopping experience by taking our online survey. After each of your order is sent, an email including the link to the online survey will be sent to you.

Your feedback is important to us. So, we will credit your customer account with 50 extra points redeemable for discounts when you shop again.

The timing of when the email is sent varies depending on the shipping method to allow for your order to arrive.

FedEx or EMS: 7 days after your order is shipped
Air Mail: 14 days after your order is shipped
SAL: 21 days after your order is shipped

Saved Items

Saved Items allows you to list items you're interested in without purchasing them in your customer account.

To add an item, click on the Save for Later button shown next to the Add to Cart button.

Please note that the item won't be reserved for you until you actually place an order.

To view items you saved, click on the Saved Items tab in your customer account. The most recently added items also appear in your shopping cart.

Artist Bookmarks

Bookmark your favorite artist by clicking on the Bookmark This Artist link in the search result, or by clicking on the Bookmark button on the listing page.

To view them, sign into your customer account and click on the Artist Bookmarks tab.

Password Assistance

If you forget your password, or experience any problem signing in, reset your password by clicking on the Forget your password? link. An email including a link to reset your password will be sent to your email address.

Password Length Upgraded in August 2011
We upgraded our website in August 2011. When we did so, we made the minimum number of characters required for password longer to enhance security. The max number of characters allowed has also been made longer. If you created your CDJapan customer account before August 2011 and experience any problem signing in, there might be a conflict between your previous registration and the current requirements. In that case, we recommend you to reset your password.
