Description

[Machine Translation] A peach tree that my late brother entrusted with the hope of our family. Here I will put down roots, sow seeds one by one, and weave my dream. To eat and grow food is to live. This is the third installment of the "Seed Sowing Traveler" series, which supports Japan's primary industry! --Ayane Kataoka is 27 years old. She grows peaches in her family's farm while working at the city hall in one of the most famous peach-growing areas in Japan. Her current goal is to register the "Akaban no Yume," a new peach variety created by her late brother through grafting. Ayane works hard under the watchful eyes of her friends, but her beloved hometown is also the place that took away her dream of becoming an actress in Tokyo. One day, a young bureaucrat from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Osamu Kimura, arrives from Tokyo. He, too, has a dream to change Japan's agricultural policy, even though he has lost sight of his ideals. The two are on edge, but gradually grow closer to each other. Will the sweet and fragrant "Dream of Akaban" fulfill their long-held wish? And what about their dream? Set in a peach-growing region overflowing with sunshine, this gem of a coming-of-age film depicts the meaning of pursuing dreams and living.

亡き兄が家族の希望を託した一本の桃の木。私はここで根を張り、種を一粒一粒まき、夢を紡いでいく。食べること、食物を育てることは、生きること。日本の第一次産業を応援する『種まく旅人』シリーズ第3弾! ――片岡彩音、27歳。全国屈指の桃の名産地で、市役所勤めをしながら実家の畑で桃を育てている。目下の目標は、亡き兄が接ぎ木で作り出した新種の桃「赤磐の夢」を品種登録すること。心豊かな仲間に見守られ、懸命に働く彩音だったが、愛する故郷は東京で女優になるという彼女の夢を奪った場所でもあった。そんなある日、東京から農林水産省の若き官僚・木村治がやって来る。理想を見失いかけている彼にもまた、日本の農業政策を変えるという夢があった。ギクシャクしながらも、少しずつ距離を縮めていく二人。甘くて香り高い「赤磐の夢」は積年の願いを叶えるのか? そして二人の夢は―? 陽光あふれる桃の産地を舞台に、夢を追うこと、生きることの意味を描いた珠玉の青春映画が誕生した。

There are 6 region codes. Typically, DVD players sold in one region is compatible only with DVD titles that are encoded for that region.

HD DVD

HD DVDs titles are playable only on HD DVD players. They are not playalbe on conventional DVD players or Blu-ray players. On the other hand, Twin Format disc has a layer that is playable also on conventional DVD players. Such titles are indicated as "Format: HD DVD Twin Format" in item details page. *We'll add accurate information on regional encoding as they become available, but for the time-being, please assume that HD DVD titles available at CDJapan are encoded for Region-2.

Blu-ray

Blu-ray titles are playable only on Blu-ray players. They are not playable on conventional DVD players or HD DVD players. There are 3 region codes for Blu-rays as listed below, which are different from DVD region codes.

DVD-Audios are playable only on DVD-Audio players and DVD players that are compatible with DVD-Audios (to find out for sure, consult the manual of your DVD player, or look for DVD-Audio logo). DVD-Audios are not playable on regular DVD players or CD players.

SACD (Super Audio CD)

SACDs are playable only on SACD players, and will not play on regular CD players. On the other hand, SACD Hybrid disc has a layer that is playable also on regular CD payers. Such titles are indicated as "Format: SACD-Hybrid" in item details page.
