Description

[Machine Translation] Cesare, Creator of Destruction" (supervised by Fuyumi Soryo, published by Kodansha), a hit historical manga serialized in "Morning" that has sold more than 1.4 million copies in total, is to be adapted into a long-awaited musical. This magnificent historical picture scroll by Fuyumi Soryo, a popular author whose beautiful drawings and dramatic descriptions have gained support from a wide range of people, will be reborn as a musical. For this production, the Meiji-za Theater has installed a fantastic orchestra pit for the first time since its establishment, and a full-scale musical with live music was performed. The lead role is played by Akinori Nakagawa, a top star who leads the musical world both in name and reality. He plays the role of Cesare Borgia, the main character in this production, with his singing ability backed up by his technique and rich expressive power. In addition, a cast representing the Japanese theater world has been assembled. The role of Miguel da Corella, who is loyal to Cesare for the rest of his life, is played by Kenchi Tachibana, who is steadily building his career as an actor while working as a performer in "EXILE". The role of Dante Alighieri, the Italian poet famous for "The Divine Comedy," is played by Masaaki Fujioka, a musical actor who has performed on many stages as well as in live performances. The role of Lorenzo de' Medici, the real ruler of the Florentine Republic who supports the Borgia family, is played by Takuya Kon, who worked with the Shiki Theatre Company and has been active on the stage and in musicals since leaving the company. The role of Heinrich VII, the reigning emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, is played by Daisuke Yokoyama, the legendary "singing man" who served in the role for the longest period of time, nine years. The role of Raffaele Riario, Archbishop of Pisa, who is related to Rovere but secretly supports the Borgia family, is played by Harumi Oyama, an actor and dancer who has also appeared on Broadway. Giuliano della Rovere, a political enemy of the Borgia family, is played by Kojiro Oka, a talented star who shines brilliantly in the musical world with his overwhelming singing ability and sweet mask. The role of Rodrigo Borgia, Cesare's father and the head of the Borgia family, will be played by Tetsuya Bessho, an important figure in the film industry who has appeared in many major musicals. And up-and-coming actors from popular stage, TV, and film appear in the W cast! In "Squadra Rossa," Ryotaro Akazawa, a member of the Sapienza University student troupe Fiorentina, plays the role of Angelo da Canossa, who is expanding his activities beyond the 2.5-dimensional stage to include drama and film. The role of Giovanni de Medici, the second son of the wealthy Lorenzo and leader of the Fiorentina troupe, is played by Teru Kagimoto, a member of "Lead" who also shows his talent as an actor in dramas, movies, and stage productions. The role of Draginazzo, the second in line to Giovanni, is played by Reiki Honda, who has appeared in popular 2.5 dimensional stage productions as well as in performance shows. The role of Roberto, a well-informed member of the Fiorentina troupe, will be played by Kento, who has been making remarkable appearances in popular productions, especially in 2.5D stage productions.
